The town is nestled between magnificent sandy beaches and a spectacular hillside.
Play Parks
Park and recreation services play a vital role in creating active and healthy communities. Leisure Services, part of Denbighshire County Council are responsible for the playing and parks in Prestatyn and Meliden.
Beaches, Water Sports & Dunes
Beaches
Prestatyn has three beaches, Ffrith, Central & Barkby Beach which join up to form a five mile stretch of sand, interspersed with rock groynes.
Water Sports
Barkby beach is the only beach along Rhyl and Prestatyn’s seven miles of golden sand that allows water sports with a buoyed channel that takes the jet bikes and speed boats safely out to one hundred metres from the waterline.
Dunes
Gronant Dunes an area of sand dunes and foreshore located on the Denbighshire coast between Prestatyn and Gronant forms part of a more extensive dune system that stretches eastwards to the Point of Ayr, Talacre.
Walking, Cycling and Golf
Walking
Prestatyn is known for its beautiful walks with stunning surroundings and the ‘Walkers are Welcome’ accreditation.
Cycling
Prestatyn has popular Cycle routes where you can enjoy the extensive views out to sea, along the coast, and inland.
Golf
Within the Township of Prestatyn and Meliden we are extremely fortunate to have 2 top class Golf Courses.
Crazy Golf
Prestatyn’s crazy golf course offers fun for all the family with twists and turns, lumps and bumps and narrow tunnels.
